Dhanera Pilgrims Killed in Rajasthan Road Accident
A tragic road accident claimed the lives of three pilgrims from Banaskantha district’s Thavar village in Dhanera taluka while they were returning from Ramdevra in Rajasthan after offering prayers. The accident occurred near Asotra in Balotra district on the Bharatmala Highway late at night.
According to initial information, the devotees were travelling back to Gujarat in a Scorpio vehicle after visiting the famous Ramdevra temple. During the journey, a nilgai suddenly came in front of the vehicle on the highway. In an attempt to save the animal, the driver reportedly lost control of the steering, causing the Scorpio to overturn on the road.
The impact of the crash was severe, leaving the front portion of the vehicle completely damaged. Three passengers died on the spot, while three others sustained serious injuries.
Local residents and police teams rushed to the spot immediately after receiving information about the accident. The injured were shifted to Nahata Hospital for emergency treatment. Due to their critical condition, doctors later referred them to Jodhpur for advanced medical care.
Police have sent the bodies for postmortem and initiated further investigation into the accident. The incident has triggered grief across Thavar village and nearby areas, as the victims were returning home after a religious pilgrimage.

Nilgai Came Suddenly on Highway
Sources said the group from Thavar village had travelled to Ramdevra in Rajasthan for darshan. While returning home, a nilgai suddenly crossed the Bharatmala Highway near Asotra. The driver attempted to avoid hitting the animal, but the vehicle went out of control and overturned.
Eyewitnesses stated that the accident was extremely serious, and nearby motorists stopped to help rescue the passengers trapped inside the vehicle before police and emergency teams arrived.
