Bengaluru Girl’s Death Case Takes Dramatic Turn
The mysterious death of a six-year-old girl in Bengaluru has taken a chilling turn, with police arresting the child’s mother, Priyanka, for allegedly conspiring with her live-in partner in the murder of her own daughter.
The case, which initially appeared to be an accidental or suspicious death, was reopened after fresh evidence and a complaint from the girl’s father led investigators to uncover disturbing details.
According to Kadugodi Police, the victim, identified as P. Vennela, died under suspicious circumstances in March this year. Following an intensive investigation, officers arrested Priyanka’s live-in partner earlier and took Priyanka into custody on Thursday.
Ice Cream Spill Allegedly Triggered the Crime
Police investigations revealed that the incident allegedly began after the six-year-old accidentally spilled ice cream inside a luxury car. Investigators claim Priyanka’s live-in partner became enraged and assaulted the child.
During questioning, police learned that the accused allegedly struck the girl in the stomach with his elbow and covered her mouth, causing her to suffocate. Authorities believe the incident was later disguised to conceal the crime.
The accused is currently in police custody, while investigators continue gathering additional evidence.
Who Was Vennela?
Vennela was the daughter of Davanagere-based education expert Praveen and advocate Priyanka. Police said Priyanka had reportedly separated from her husband and was living in an upscale villa in eastern Bengaluru with her college friend and real estate businessman Mohan.
Investigators stated that Mohan was already married and had two children. Despite this, he had allegedly left his family and was living with Priyanka in a live-in relationship.
Father’s Complaint Led to Breakthrough
Following his daughter’s death, Praveen filed a murder complaint against Priyanka and Mohan at Kadugodi Police Station on June 4. He alleged that the couple viewed the child as an obstacle to their new personal life and had intentionally killed her.
The complaint prompted a deeper investigation, leading police to re-examine evidence and reconstruct the events surrounding the child’s death.
Forensic Investigation Underway
Police have also sent the luxury car for forensic examination and are working with forensic science experts to collect additional evidence. Officials said the investigation remains ongoing, and more details may emerge as forensic reports become available.
