India Post GDS Result 2026 First Merit List for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Online Engagement Schedule-II, July 2026 released by Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India. Candidates who applied for the posts of Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevak can now check their selection status on the official India Post GDS portal. The first merit list was published on 12th October 2026.

In the postal circles of India, there is a recruitment drive for 23,757 posts. Candidates can download the concerned PDF and search their registration number in the merit list available circle-wise. According to the recruitment updates released, the shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the document verification process by 27 October 2026.

India Post GDS Result 2026 – Steps to Check

1. Go to the official website indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement.
2. Check the Shortlisted Candidates: Schedule-II, July-2026.
3. Choose the first merit list which is also called List-I.
4. Select your postal circle.
5. Click on the merit list PDF to download it.
6. Use the search function of the PDF by pressing Ctrl + F on a computer or the search option on a mobile device.
7. Type in your registration number or search for your name.
8. If your information is on the list, carefully read the document verification instructions and note the division and due date.
9. Save the PDF for later.

Important: Please cross check the registration number and other details properly. If the PDF contains multiple candidates with similar names, do not simply match to a name.

How Selection Is Determined? India Post GDS Merit List 2026

The engagement process for the GDS is based on a system generated merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the Class 10 Secondary School Examination or the prescribed conversion of grades and points into marks. Selection of candidates will be on the basis of academic marks of the qualifying degree subject to applicability of the recruitment rules and verification of documents.
