Morbi: In a major step towards making the nation tuberculosis free under the ambitious TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan of the central government, the JOSH Team was formally launched in the Morbi district. The launch event was attended by several eminent administrative and political dignitaries who gathered to strengthen the local health infrastructure and accelerate community awareness towards the eradication of tuberculosis.

The special launching ceremony was attended by Honourable Mayor Uttambhai Surani, MLA Durlabhjibhai Dethariya, District Development Officer (DDO) Vidyasagar, Vice President Vipulbhai Garchar and Executive Committee chairman Manishbhai Kanjiya along with senior district health officials. Together they demonstrated the administration’s commitment to public health and community mobilisation at the grassroots level looking forward.
A special felicitation ceremony was conducted on the occasion to acknowledge the important grass root contributors under the TB Mukt Panchayat initiative. On stage, Village Sarpanchs who have played a key part in keeping high health standards and awareness in their respective rural areas were feliciated. The administration also recognised the ‘Nikshay Mitras’, who are compassionate individuals and organisations providing essential nutritional, diagnostic and moral support to TB patients. The recognition is to foster more community participation and take away the stigma of the disease.
Focusing on youth involvement and sustained ground-level action, District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Dhansukh Ajana delivered a comprehensive educational session to the attendees, which prominently included NCC cadets and MY Bharat volunteers. Dr. Ajana elaborated on the medical, social and preventive aspects of tuberculosis. He talked about the exact roles and responsibilities of these young volunteers in driving the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan forward, ensuring that correct information and proper healthcare guidance reaches every house in the district.
