Gandhinagar: Candidates preparing for the Gujarat Teacher Aptitude Test (TAT) have received an important update. The TAT Examination 2026, originally scheduled for August 2, 2026, has been postponed due to the forecast of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall across Gujarat. The examination will now be conducted on August 8, 2026, and candidates can appear using their existing hall tickets.
The decision was taken to ensure the safety and convenience of candidates, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread heavy rainfall in several parts of the state between July 31 and August 2.

GPSC Exam Also Deferred
The postponement comes shortly after the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC) announced the rescheduling of its 34-cadre recruitment examination. The GPSC exam, which was scheduled for August 1, 2026, has also been postponed because of the adverse weather conditions.
According to the commission, the decision was made after considering weather warnings and multiple representations received from candidates across Gujarat. The examination has now been rescheduled for August 9, 2026.
Candidate Safety Given Priority
Authorities stated that continuous rainfall and the possibility of flooding in several districts could affect travel and examination arrangements. To avoid inconvenience and ensure equal opportunity for all candidates, both examination authorities decided to postpone the exams.
Candidates appearing for the TAT Exam are advised to preserve their current admit cards, as no fresh hall tickets will be issued for the revised examination date unless officially notified.
