Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar took charge as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and announced 200 units free electricity, women security force, and a white paper on state debt.

Vijay Takes Charge as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister

Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar officially assumed office as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and immediately began implementing key promises made before the elections. Soon after taking charge, Vijay signed several important files, including the announcement of 200 units of free electricity for domestic consumers and the formation of a special women’s security force.

The move is being seen as the beginning of a major political shift in Tamil Nadu, with Vijay promising transparent governance, social justice, and strict action against crime and drugs.

First Major Decisions by CM Vijay

After taking oath, Vijay approved the state’s first major welfare decision by signing the file related to providing 200 units of free electricity to household consumers. The decision is expected to benefit lakhs of middle-class and lower-income families across Tamil Nadu.

He also signed another crucial file focused on women’s safety. The new proposal includes the formation of a dedicated women’s security force aimed at improving safety measures and strengthening law enforcement for women across the state.

Vijay Promises Transparent Governance

Addressing the public after assuming office, Vijay requested people to give him enough time to prove his work through action rather than words. He stated that his government would function with complete transparency and accountability.

Vijay announced that his administration is considering releasing a “White Paper” on Tamil Nadu’s financial condition. According to him, the previous DMK government left the state under a debt burden of more than Rs 10 lakh crore.

He said the white paper would help people understand the actual economic condition of Tamil Nadu and ensure transparency in governance.

Vijay Attacks Previous Government Over Debt

The newly appointed Chief Minister strongly criticized the previous administration over the financial situation of the state. Vijay claimed that he had inherited a government burdened with massive debt and assured citizens that his administration would avoid false promises.

He also stated that there would be only one power center in the government and assured the public that he would not misuse taxpayer money.

Emotional Speech Wins Attention

During his speech, Vijay emotionally recalled his journey from being the son of a poor assistant director to becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. He thanked the people of the state for accepting and supporting him throughout his political journey.

He also expressed gratitude to Congress, VCK, and Left parties for supporting his party in forming the government. Vijay described the new administration as the beginning of a “new era of secularism, honesty, and social justice.”

Strong Stand Against Drugs

CM Vijay assured the public that his government would take strict action against narcotics and illegal drug activities in the state. He promised stronger policing and tougher measures to protect youth from drug addiction.

The Chief Minister also claimed that public funds would be used honestly and responsibly under his leadership.

Rahul Gandhi Offered Role in Government

In a major political development, Vijay revealed that he had invited Rahul Gandhi and Congress leaders to become part of the government. According to Vijay, Rahul Gandhi responded by saying the party would consider the proposal.

The statement has sparked fresh political discussions about possible alliances and power-sharing arrangements in Tamil Nadu politics.
