Rajkot: A major development has emerged in the Nandini Bosmiya suicide case nearly 15 days after the 23-year-old woman was found dead at her apartment in Rajkot. The Rajkot City Taluka Police have now registered an FIR against three individuals based on a complaint filed by the victim’s father.

According to the police complaint, offences have been registered under Sections 108, 351(2), and 54 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Aslam Sama, his wife Zarina alias Bhukamp, and his mother-in-law Guddi. The allegations include mental harassment and intimidation that allegedly led to the victim’s death. The investigation is currently underway.

What Does the FIR Allege?

In his complaint, Anand Bosmiya, the victim’s 43-year-old father, alleged that his daughter had been living in a live-in relationship with Aslam Sama for the past nine months. The couple reportedly lived together in Junagadh before shifting to Rajkot.

The complaint alleges that Aslam’s wife, Zarina alias Bhukamp, and her mother Guddi repeatedly called Nandini and threatened her. According to the FIR, the victim was allegedly told that she would never be allowed to live peacefully with Aslam and was also threatened with physical harm, including claims that she would be disfigured. The family alleges that these repeated threats caused severe mental distress.

Family Alleges Harassment and Financial Demands

The FIR further claims that after Aslam’s wife returned, he allegedly asked Nandini to leave the house, saying he no longer needed her. The complaint also accuses him of physically assaulting her, abusing her verbally, and repeatedly demanding money.

The victim’s family has also alleged that Nandini’s gold chain was pawned. According to the complaint, a day before her death, Nandini informed her family that Aslam had allegedly assaulted her by choking her and that another dispute had taken place over money.

Police Investigation Continues

Following the registration of the FIR, the Rajkot Police have begun investigating all aspects of the case. Officials are examining call records, digital evidence, witness statements, and other available material to establish the sequence of events.

Police have not announced any final conclusions, and the investigation remains ongoing. The allegations mentioned in the FIR are part of the complainant’s version, and the accused will have the opportunity to present their defence during the legal process.
